Presentation
At a stone throw from the gates of Palais-Royal, Patrick Fourtin’s gallery opened in the mid-nineties – epitomizing, if only by its location, its owner’s taste for the unbeaten track.
Among the firsts to commit his professional life to twentieth-century decorative arts whatever their style and their period in the century, Patrick Fourtin always had at heart to privilege his own taste and gut feeling for a piece; its aesthetic originality as well as the quality of the craftsmanship. This taste for discovery made his style.
As early as 2004, he was the first to devote a solo exhibition to the now renowned and celebrated American designer Paul EVANS.
In September 2010, Patrick Fourtin opens his gallery once again to a contemporary artist, the designer and sculptor Julian SCHWARZ, recently celebrated by the Bettencourt-Schueller Foundation (Prix pour l’Intelligence de la Main 2010) and exhibited at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in 2009. In parallel we are given to discover the works of 1960s cabinetmaker GINO.
These choices have coalesced around Patrick Fourtin and his gallery a number of faithful circles of customers amongst professionals, decorators and antique dealers alike, but also design and art lovers from all around the world; all attracted by the high standards of his approach.
